Designed for couples who want time together rather than a checklist, this retreat pairs boutique stays with slow days. Expect flower-decked rooms, a private sunrise shikara with breakfast on the water, and a candlelit dinner aboard your houseboat.
In Gulmarg and Pahalgam we've chosen hotels with mountain views and fireplaces, and kept the driving light — leaving afternoons free for picnics by the Lidder river, pony rides through pine forests or simply a long cup of kahwa as the sun goes down.
Day by day
Private airport pick-up and transfer to your deluxe houseboat, where your room is decorated with fresh flowers. Spend a quiet evening on the deck as the call to prayer drifts across the lake, followed by a candlelit dinner on board.
Wake early for a private shikara ride through the floating market as the lake turns gold, with breakfast served on board. Later, visit Nishat and Shalimar gardens and dress up in traditional pheran for a couple photoshoot.
A scenic drive to Gulmarg. Settle into a mountain-view room with a fireplace and spend the afternoon walking the meadow or sipping hot chocolate in the snow.
Ride the Gulmarg Gondola to Kongdoori and, weather permitting, on to Apharwat Peak for views stretching to Nanga Parbat. The rest of the day is yours — sledging, skiing or simply resting by the fire.
Drive to Pahalgam through saffron country, arriving at a riverside resort on the Lidder. Spend the evening by the water as the mountains turn pink.
A leisurely visit to Betaab and Aru valleys with a picnic lunch by the river. Optional pony ride through the pine forests to Baisaran meadow.
Drive back to Srinagar for your onward flight, with time for a stop at a saffron farm or a pashmina workshop on the way.
